They Reminisce is the story of one crew's journey through 20 years of Hip Hop. Meet the Salt City Rockers, SLC's homegrown crew of bboys, house dancers and poppers. We begin our story in the early 80's, SCR has become an unstoppable force in the neighborhood and they can sense that their big break is right around the corner. Join them as they experience the success and exploitation of the 80's and the underground resurgence of the 90's. Experience Hip Hop's golden era through the dancing, music, fashion and history that defined each decade.

In addition to the three evening performances, there will be a Saturday matinee performance as a part of the Moving Parts Family Series.

Alongside these historical dances are two groundbreaking commissions by Tiffany Rea-Fisher (Artistic Director of Elisa Monte Dance) and Utah’s own Natosha Washington (Artistic Director, The Penguin Lady).

The Live Creature and Ethereal Things

This family-friendly world premiere production asks: “Where does hope come from when faced with random cruelty?” and is inspired by the mission of The Red Fred Project and it’s founder, Dallas Graham. The Red Fred Project finds children living in extraordinary circumstances, and empowers them through a guided creative process that ultimately inspires them to author an original book. These creative kids, most of whom are terminally ill, have faced significant challenges in short lifetimes with humor and compassion and have wisdom-filled stories to share.
The Live Creature and Ethereal Things will be choreographed by Artistic Director Daniel Charon with an original score composed by John Paul Hayward. The story is being developed in collaboration with Robert Scott Smith and Alexandra Harbold of Flying Bobcat Theatrical Laboratory.
Music commissioned by the Charles and Joan Gross Family Foundation
In addition to the two evening performances, there will be a Saturday matinee performance as a part of the Moving Parts Family Series.

It must be the soiree of the year, RDT’s annual fundraiser that asks the audience to award a commission based on works created in just 4 hours. Four choreographers examine what makes community: how we communicate, organize and socialize; how we voice our opinions and solve our problems. RDT will present the Doris Humphrey masterpiece Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor (1938) alongside a restating of Danielle Agami’s 2016 work, Theatre. In addition, VOICES will feature two world-premieres by the renowned Bebe Miller, and Bryn Cohn, winner of the 2018 REGALIA competition.

The show features brand-new stage production, astounding versatility and, as always, Derek’s magnetic stage presence. Fans will journey through a true fusion of dance and music, as Derek explores styles ranging from ballroom and tap to salsa and hop-hop and everything in between. Creative team and two-time EMMY® winners, Napoleon and Tabitha Dumo, also known as NappyTabs (Jennifer Lopez: All I Have Residency; Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour; GRAMMYs® creative direction), will co-create, direct and supervise choreography for the tour.
